Bulbul Of Malaysia Part 1

Bulbuls seem to be the most common bird in Malaysia. They can be found almost every where, from city parks to deep jungle. Common as they are, I still enjoy watching and photographing them.

I believe this is the most common of the Bulbul family, the Yellow-Vented Bulbul, I got these shots near my house in Kelana Jaya.

Another quite common Bulbul is this Stripe-Throated Bulbul. Go to most forest edges and even villages you’re sure to find them.

Also quite commonly found at forest’s edges is this Cream-Vented Bulbul.

  1. Brilliant photos as ever Ari. I must say when in India and Malaysia in general I found most bulbuls rather shy and unapproachable, with the exception i think of Red-vented Bulbul? Shows how much I know.

  3. I have a pair nesting near my front door. Two weeks ago I noticed chicks in the nest. Two of them. Obviously surprised and happy .These avian visitors are not afraid of people.
