Yellow – Breasted Flowerpecker

Another ‘super-active little’ bird, not much different from the Orange-Bellied Flowerpecker in terms of behavior and habitat. They usually make very good targets for shooting practice…

They are usually quite friendly allowing me to approach them to within a couple of meters.

Oops! I think I’ve just encroached into the danger zone! and usually the story ends like the two photos below……. Time to get away……

  1. Great pictures Ari. Is that a male with the red crown streak, and is the base of the bill really blue.?

  2. Phil, I'm really not sure of the gender because my reference book only describes adult and juvenile, and yes the base of the bill is blue ( I do very little post processing - yet to learn Photoshop)
